2010 Little League World Series scores are final for the Thursday Little League World Series schedule. These Little League World Series scores provided a lot of excitement, but they also prolonged the life of Hawaii to an extra game on Friday. Coming in to today, Hawaii needed to beat undefeated Georgia to force a re-match game on Friday, and the Washington vs. Texas game was going to present a winner in Pool B.
To start the Little League World Series schedule for Day 7 was the Washington vs. Texas game, and very early it looked like Washington was going to run away with the game. They had beaten Texas on Wednesday night, and jumped out to a 4-0 lead against Texas on Thursday afternoon. It just wasn’t meant to be though, as the tough Texas offense came through when it counted the most, and then shut down the Washington offense in the sixth inning. Texas won 7-5 and advanced to the 2010 United States Championship Game on Saturday.
In the night game, it was Hawaii vs. Georgia to decide who would win Pool A. If Georgia won the game, they would advance to the United States Championship Game on Saturday, but if Hawaii won, it would mean another game on Friday. The Hawaii offense showed up early and often, and despite a late rally of three runs by this Georgia team in the bottom of the sixth inning, Hawaii was able to prevail 7-4. Now Hawaii forces an additional game which will serve as the final elimination game of the tournament.
Hawaii vs. Georgia round two takes place on Friday at 11 a.m. PST (2 p.m. EST) on ESPN, and the winner unfortunately has to also play on Saturday against a Texas team that gets an extra day of rest. We are down to just four games left at the 2010 LLWS, and things are getting very interesting.
