It’s time for my 2010 NFL Week 6 predictions and picks. What’s on tap for the week 6 schedule? Let’s start with Seattle at Chicago. With or without Jay Cutler, the Bears defense stacks up quite well against a Seattle offense that is struggling to find any rhythm. If this game were in Seattle, I’d have a different set of predictions and picks for this week 6 match-up. Since the contest is at Soldier Field, I think the Bears will roll to a 31-13 victory.
My 2010 NFL week 6 predictions and picks continue with Miami visiting Green Bay. The Packers should be rolling by now but they aren’t yet hitting their stride. Will Miami play like the team we saw at the start of the season or the ones that didn’t show up against New England? I think this could get ugly fast at Lambeau Field. Green Bay thumps the Dolphins 31-14.
What’s next on the 2010 NFL week 6 schedule? San Diego is at St. Louis for what could be an upset special of the week? The Chargers have been up and down while the Rams have shown strong signs of growth. I don’t think St. Louis will be able to muster enough defense to slow down Philip Rivers and the Chargers in this one. It could be a shootout-but my predictions and picks have the Chargers escaping with a 33-27 victory.
One of the more intriguing games on the schedule takes place when Baltimore pays a visit to New England. The Patriots are typically strong at home–but the Ravens defense travels well wherever they go. I am going to step outside the lines a bit for this one and go with the Baltimore offense making noise. Ravens win 27-24.
New Orleans is at Tampa Bay. The Saints will need to play well–just as any team will when they travel on the road in the NFL this year. I still think the Saints are vastly better than the Bucs and they’ll prove it during the 2010 week 6 schedule. New Orleans rolls 34-20.
Next up on the 2010 week 6 schedule is Detroit at the New York Giants. The Giants need a breather but they probably won’t get one here. The Lions sack at a very high rate defense could make sure of that against an often error prone Eli Manning. I still think Eli will make big plays down the stretch like we’ve seen before. The Giants steal a 27-21 win in front of the home folks.
Atlanta is at Philadelphia in one of the more interesting match-ups on paper. Can the Falcons make a statement on the road? I believe Atlanta will win going away in this one 23-17. Look for Matt Ryan to connect for the game winning touchdown late in the 4th quarter. It’ll be that close.
Cleveland travels to Pittsburgh in a game that probably won’t be expected to be close. The Browns have played respectable in some games but winning in Pittsburgh is never easy. Look for the Steelers to pull away in the second half of an otherwise close game. Pittsburgh wins 22-10.
My 2010 NFL Week 6 predictions and picks continue with Kansas City in Houston. This could be the game on the 2010 NFL schedule where the Chiefs make a huge statement. I kind of feel like this will be the game where the Chiefs make a huge thud. The Texans offense is incredible and I can’t imagine KC will be able to slow them down in front of their own fans. Texans romp 35-16.
Next up on the 2010 NFL Week 6 schedule is a game nobody probably cares about. Oakland travels to San Francisco–two teams currently playing for lottery picks. I think the 49’ers will win and win big. San Fran takes this one 33-12.
The Jets travel to Denver in what could be a showdown. New York has illustrated a top notch defense while Denver quarterback Kyle Orton has shown the propensity to dish out big yardage game after game. I believe the Broncos will find a way to win a very tight game in this one. Denver 27 Jets 20.
Dallas travels to Minnesota in a crucial NFC week 6 match-up for both teams. Will the Cowboys be able to win in a tough environment on the road? I don’t think so this week. The Vikings will escape with a 23-20 overtime win.
Indianapolis travels to Washington for what could be another great game on the 2010 NFL week 6 schedule.
Peyton Manning doesn’t care if he is on the road or at home–but the schedule certainly has pointed toward that early. I think the Colts get it together in a huge way on the road this week and win comfortably 36-21.
The final game on the 2010 Week 6 schedule is Tennessee at Jacksonville. The Titans could use a huge road win in this part of the regular season. Games like these could determine if Tennessee even makes the playoffs. The Jags are in the same boat-kind of. I think the Titans steal a big win thanks in part to Chris Johnson and big defensive plays from the Titans. Tennessee wins 20-17.
That’s it for my 2010 Week 6 predictions and picks. I’ll be back the following week for 201 NFL week 7 picks.
