There is just something so sexy about wearing a superhero Halloween costume. This year 2010, some of the hottest superhero costume ideas for women are Wonder Woman, Silk Spectre, Batgirl and as always the infamous Catwoman, which is always a huge hit when it comes to choosing a sexy costume idea.
The joker might be out this year to some, but why not Harley Quinn? The Joker’s sidekick always seems to be a hit no matter what year it is. Could it be the fact you get to wear a tight sexy one piece outfit? Or is it the fact of wearing one black shoe and one red along with different color gloves? Regardless, Harley Quinn is still considered a sexy Halloween costume for women 2010, and probably each year after that.
The hardest part with this costume is finding it. Some of the retailers online sell the Harley Quinn costume. However, they are quite expensive. I have done the research for you, and narrowed it down to the top 3 places for Harley Quinn costumes. All of the places I found are all selling the costume under $50 dollars.
Amazon.com offers a few different varieties. You can choose the original print for $41.00, or you can pick the Barbie DC Comics one for only $39.69. The print is almost the same. Also on this website you can purchase Poison Ivy The Original, Sexy Poison Ivy, Long dress Poison Ivy, Batgirl, and even Catwoman.
The next website up is SpiritHalloween.com. This website has 2 choices. They have the Gotham Harley Quinn Original costume for $49.99 or a sexy version which comes in a bustier dress for $49.99. If you decide you want to try and make your own Harley Quinn costume, I would definitely opt for the sexy version. This one is easier to make and less items needed.
Costumecraze.com has this costume on sale right now for only $48.41.
Ok, let’s discuss how you can make a sexy version of Harley Quinn like I mentioned above.
Items Needed:
1 shiny red knee high sock
1 shiny black knee high sock
1 shiny red long fingerless arm glove
1 shiny black long fingerless arm glove
Pair of black ankle boots
White ruffle material (To place around wrists, and chest area)
Short red bustier/corset dress
Red shiny fabric (To make 6 Diamonds to place on dress and socks)
Black shiny fabric (To make 6 diamonds to place on dress and socks)
Black eye mask
Red and Black headpiece
Bright red lipstick
Black fabric (To place over right breast and on left side of dress)
Putting Costume Together:
Cut of enough white ruffle material to make two wrist bands, and a top of a heart shape to go over one breast down and over the other breast.
Then using the black and red fabric cut out your diamonds. Place 4 red diamonds on the black section, and 4 black diamonds on the red section.
Now cut out 2 black diamonds and 2 red diamonds. Place the 2 black on the red sock and place the 2 red on the black sock.
If you want to look more dramatic paint your face pale white, and add a wide black neck choker.
