Christmas is just around the corner, and you really want to make something nice for your home. You’ve seen all the magazines, with homes decorated with beautiful Christmas decorations. Your a little jealous . Your by no means a “Martha Stewart”. Every year you tell yourself, this year is the year, I will put on my creative hat and make some Christmas decorations. You might think to yourself, I can’t afford all the materials necessary to make all those fancy decorations. The good news is: You might not have to spend a penny. There are many crafts you could make with just using what you already have around the house. If you don’t already, start saving toilet paper rolls, paper towel rolls, oat meal boxes, juice cans and lids, fabric scraps, buttons, and ribbons. You get the idea! Just about anything could be transformed into a beautiful Christmas decoration.
Toilet Paper Rolls And Paper Towel Rolls
OK, Who doesn’t have toilet paper rolls, or paper towel rolls? Everybody has these around the house . Why not recycle them? A toilet paper roll, can be used to make a beautiful Christmas angel, that you can display through out your home. You can make one angel, or a whole choir of angels. This is a very easy craft even a child could do.
Toilet Paper Roll Christmas Angel
What You Will Need
Toilet paper roll
Used dryer sheet
Gold or silver pipe cleaner
Card board, or white paper
Hot glue gun, or Elmer’s glue
Fake hair ( You can get this by cutting up an old wig , or cutting hair off an old doll)
Popsicle stick or tooth pick
Assorted ribbons or rick rack
Take your toilet paper roll, and wrap fabric around it securing it with glue. Next take the tooth pick or Popsicle stick , and glue it to the inside of the toilet paper roll. Make sure it sticks out on one end. Now take a piece of paper and draw a circle on it. This will be the angels face. Draw eyes, nose, and a mouth on the circle with your markers. Next glue the circle on the tooth pick or Popsicle stick. Take a small piece of the fake hair , and with your fingers, scrunch it up. This will create a curly or wavy look. Next glue the hair on the back of the circle. Take your marker , and draw buttons on the fabric covered roll, or glue buttons on the roll. Take the pipe cleaner and bend it into a halo for your angel. Now glue the halo , behind the head of the angel. Take a ribbon or rick rack, and tie it around your fabric covered roll. Finally, take the dryer sheet , and twist it to form wings for your angel, and glue them to the back of fabric covered toilet paper roll. Your angel is now finished. Make a whole choir of angels , and display them all around your home. Toilet paper rolls, can also be used to make reindeer, Santa, or a snow man.

What You Will Need
Assemble Everything in Basket
Take everything and assemble it in the basket. This entirely up to you . You may want to spray paint the pine cones , silver or gold or sprinkle them with glitter. Use your imagination, and have fun. These look great on your coffee table .
Oatmeal Boxes (Snow man or Santa)
Oatmeal boxes can be transformed into snow men, Santa, Elves, etc…
Glue gun or glue
Frozen Juice Lid
Googly eyes (optional)
Take a sheet of construction paper, and wrap around oat meal box , securing it with glue. Next do the same to the can. Paint can with your choice of color. This can be a hat for a snow man. Glue the juice lid to the can to make the brim to the hat. You can fashion antlers for a reindeer, and so on. You get the idea! Its really up to you . So this Holiday season, don’t worry about decorating your house, with expensive department store decorations. Get creative ! let this be the year you have the holiday home, all your neighbors are bragging about!
