Amelia Island and Fernandina Beach, Florida is host to many fine restaurants, but there are a few that stand out among the locals in Northeast Florida . Murray’s Grill which is located just off the island serves great appetizers including fried green tomatoes, fried okra and corn nuggets. They serve fresh hot rolls with regular and cinnamon butter, (my favorite), steaks and seafood and has a full bar with live music most weekends. They have an upstairs and down with a private room to host parties The prices are fairly reasonable for the portions they serve. (904)-261-2727, The Surf is located at 3199 S. Fletcher Ave in Amelia Island and serves seafood, steaks, salads, wings, and more. They usually have a Sunday special of $5,99 for a lobster tail (again my favorite). The setting is directly across from the beach and they have an outer deck and inside seating. They sometimes have live music on the outer deck. Phone: 904-261-5711,Barbara Jean’s 960030 Gateway Blvd. across the bridge going into the Island of Fernandina, but still in Amelia Island. It is home to Southern Style home cooking with The menu features 14 veggies, home-style Southern entrees, a wide variety of seafood, homemade soups, sandwiches, and sweet desserts. Phone: 904-277-3700, Jack&Diane’s is located at 708 Centre Street Fernandina Beach, and has great food, yet can be a tad pricey. The menu has some of higher taboo recipes served by some of the finer diners in the area. The music is classic rock or at least it was the day I was there. Phone: 904-321-1444, Moon River Pizza is located at 925 S 14th St. Fernandina Beach and is said to be the best pizza in the South and well worth the wait. The service is great and the staff is friendly. (904) 321-3400.
Whatever your plans may be, if you happen to find yourself in Northeast Florida, stop in and have a bite of some delicious food and enjoy your visit.
