Baby, it’s cold outside– but that doesn’t mean you can’t spice up your makeup routine to look extra special during the cold winter months. Whether you are attending a party or just want to spend the night on the town with your significant other, keep the winter blues away with these hot winter makeup trends:
Create a vibrant look by swapping out the typical black and gray eyeliner with an eggplant or navy eye pencil. Use the eyeliner the way you would your other colors, lining the upper and lower lash line to create a smoky eye. If you want a less dramatic look, line the upper lashes with the pencil and then dust on some champagne shimmer shadow along the lid.
Show off the girls (Just a little!)
While it won’t be classy to show too much cleavage at your work holiday party, you can still play up the décolletage with a bit of shimmer powder for a glam look. Enhance the area by dusting on a small amount of shimmer body powder along the collarbone and down, in the shape of a ‘T’.
Try a shimmer moisturizer
To get great looking skin even in the dead of winter, remember to exfoliate the body with a gentle scrub at least two to three times a week. During the winter, skin begins to dry out and look dull, but with the help of an exfoliator you can liven up your skin. Once you finish showering, lotion up with a shimmer moisturizer or body balm to not only quench the skin, but also show off those legs!
Keep lips kissable
While a lip color definitely enhances the face, your date might not appreciate it come New Year’s Eve. To keep the color without worrying about it coming off throughout the evening, layer the lip colors with different forumlas. Keep lips kiss-worthy by exfoliating them gently with a dry washcloth, then swipe on some lip stain. On top of the stain add a lipstick in a matching shade, then add more stain if desired. This will guarantee your lips look fabulous all night long.
Finish off with a signature scent
On a special occasion, it’s essential to use your favorite perfume– but it’s equally important not to add too much or no one will want to be around you at the party! Ideal places to add a spritz of perfume include behind the ears, in the hair, behind the knees and inside of the wrists.
