Grub Street reported recently that the Breuckelen, Cobble Hill’s most recent new restaurant at 268 Clinton, has started serving lunch.
But the notable part of this story is the “Ground Brisket Burger” for $16 which Breuckelen introduces on its lunch menu and is limiting to only the lunch menu.
Needless to say, perhaps, a $16 burger is not the norm in Cobble Hill, especially as a lunch only option. Manhattan maybe, but Brooklyn? Not so much.
The “Ground Brisket” part may give this burger away as being something at least slightly more interesting than your typical burger of course, and hopefully even deserving of the price tag.
With “smoked cippolinni marmalade, aged cheddar” and “shoestring fries,” we’re getting hungry just typing this. But will it be good enough to survive in Cobble Hill with such a hefty tag?
As they say, only time will tell.
