New National Park in Monroe, Michigan Opens
In mid October 2010 the “National Park Service” announced on its’ website that a new National Park has officially opened in Monroe, Michigan.
The new National Park entitled “River Raisin National Battlefield” pays homage to the “War of 1812” battle that was fought along the northern side of the “River Raisin” from January 18th through January 23rd, 1813.
National Park Service Announces Free Days for 2011
The “National Park Service” announced that the few National Parks that do charge an entrance fee will be waiving those fees on the following upcoming days;
November 11th, 2010 Veteran’s Day
April 16th – 24th, 2011 National Park Week
September 24th, 2011 National Public Lands Day
November 11th, 2011 Veteran’s Day
More fee free days are expected to be announced on the National Park Service website at a later date.
American Bus Association Announces Top 100 Events and Festivals in North America
Each year tourism industry insiders wait with baited breath for the announcement of the “American Bus Association’s Top 100 Events and Festivals in North America.”
