A Few Simple Purchases to Update Your Wardrobe for Fall

by bog bit

Along with each new season comes new fashion trends, and new “must-have” pieces to add to your wardrobe. However, “must-have” is hard to get when your budget says that you only can have a few simple things to update your wardrobe for the new season. Fall 2010 is nearly upon us, and there are several hot trends, all of which you may want to try to incorporate into your current clothing budget. But if you can only buy a few simple fall 2010 clothing pieces, what should they be?

Here are my picks for “must-have” pieces that will update your wardrobe for fall 2010 and still allow you to put food on the table.

Ankle Booties- If you are thinking about dragging the pointy toed boots of last year out of the closet for another go around, think again. Boots with pointy toes are so out this season. Instead, invest in a pair of oh-so-cool ankle booties. Ankle booties are being seen everywhere, and they go with most everything, from leggings, to dresses, to jeans. Ankle booties are so hot, and the style variations are diverse. There are peep toes and ones in patent leather, as well as booties embellished with rosettes and bows. The style is fun and feminine, and you are sure to find a pair that is priced just right.

Sweater Coat- As the mornings and evenings turn cooler, you will be looking for something sensationally stylish to wrap yourself up in. For fall 2010, that something is a sweater coat. Perfect for fall weather and the layering that goes along with it, a sweater coat is not only trendy, but also functional. A sweater coat will take the chill off of those cool mornings and will add some heat to your nightlife, too.

Anything Military- The military trend is probably the most prominent trend for fall 2010. Whether you choose combat boots or a simple jacket with military detailing, you will be fall chic and fashionable. Not every age group can pull off combat boots, but most women will be able to find a cute jacket or top that is military inspired and suits them to a tee.

Metallic Handbag- Copper- and silver-toned, metallic handbags are hot for fall 2010, especially with details like grommets and buckets. Faux fur and fold-over handbags are also all of the rage, and one can usually find a sweet new handbag that is trendy and budget friendly. It is time to put away the canvas and straw bags and opt for a new fall bag.

Plum Lipstick or Nail Polish- Perhaps your budget is quite tight. You are not alone, so jazz up your fall wardrobe by adding a chic and sexy plum-toned lipstick or nail polish. Plum on lips, eyes, and nails is everywhere this fall, so add a tube, or bottle to your collection so that you won’t be left behind.

You know your style, and you know your budget. It only takes a few, simple pieces to update your wardrobe for fall. Whether you choose to opt for every piece mentioned or simply a lipstick and a sweater coat, make certain that your choices not only reflect your personal sense of style, but also your bank account balance. There is nothing trendy about going broke, so do some research before you buy the fall apple of your eye, and you are certain to find pieces that will make this fall fantastic!
