Aruba is known as one of the most beautiful and relaxing destinations on the planet. The year round temperate climate makes it a popular destination spot during all the seasons of the year. The Aruban people know how to make travelers feel welcomed and always are willing to put a smile on their face to show tourist that they are happy to have them. For a new traveler to Aruba one of the biggest questions is where to stay. Where you lay your head at night can make or break a vacation. Here I will share with you some of the best hotels in Aruba as well as what you can expect to spend and what each of them offers that makes them the among the best. I have also included my own personal 1 to 5 Palm Tree Ratings System. So, let’s cover the best places to stay in the country that defines itself as “One Happy Island!”
RIU Palace Aruba
If you took the best and most luxurious resort hotels together and put them on one street, the RIU Aruba would still stand out amongst these elites. The RIU is located on my favorite beach on the planet, Palm Beach and has amenities befitting a royal palace. The RIU boasts a full casino, a shopping plaza, a variety of dining choices and a pool area that includes a swim-up bar. The RIU’s staff compliments the hotel’s dedication to service and professionalism. Hotel rates can run from $250 – $900 per night depending on your room type, season and whether you want to make it an all inclusive stay. The room for my stay was by the RIU standards a modest $375 per night without the all inclusive package. The RIU Palace Aruba definitely gets 5 Palm Trees for being one of the best resort spots in the world.
The Mill Resort and Suites
If you like the location of the location of the RIU, but not the price The Mill Resort and Suites may be the place for you. One of Aruba’s best kept secrets, this is a great family destination spot or a perfect location if you like your stays a bit more quiet. The Mill is located directly across the street from the RIU Palace which puts it directly across the street from Palm Beach. The Mill offers the best staff on the island and many islanders aren’t afraid to tell you that The Mill is a local favorite. The Mill allows you to book excursions, rent a car and even offers a modest restaurant with delicious food. I recommend the breakfast buffet as I was definitely surprised by the selections and tastes offered by this small location. The best thing about the Mill is the price. Rooms will run you from $90 – $300 per night and many come with an in-room Jacuzzi. The Mill Resort and Suites gets a 4 Palm Tree rating for value and catering to families.
The Holiday Inn SunSpree Resort Aruba
You get the size and on beach location of the RIU at only a slightly higher price than The Mill at The Holiday Inn SunSpree Resort Aruba. The Holiday Inn chain has a gem of a resort in this location. I have only had a 2 night stay here and I was apprehensive when I only paid a modest $190 per night, but was pleasantly surprised by what I received. While the rooms weren’t as nice as the other hotels on our list absolutely everything else was. A great casino, good dining options and plenty of after-hour entertainment make this resort a must-see. Like the RIU, when you walk out the door, you have the sand of Palm Beach under your feet. Also like the RIU, you have a semi-reserved area for your resort which makes it an absolute great stay. The Holiday Inn also offers many family activities that our other resorts have missed out on. At a rate of $175 -$450 per night and all the big resort amenities, the Holiday Inn SunSpree Resort gets a 4½ Palm Tree Rating.
You now have the best Hotels in Aruba listed for you. Now go make those reservations. Happy traveling!
