“There is nothing to be proud of in being a dysfunctional homosexual?” As a person who has several gay/lesbian relatives and friends, I take serious offense to your words. The gay members of my family are probably the LEAST dysfunctional members of the entire family. They have strong relationships that many straight people can only envy.
Take a moment to talk with some real gay families and find that it is not about sex, pornography, and pedophiles (most of whom are HETEROsexual). Being gay is just something that happens, the same as being born blind, left-handed, or blue-eyed; it is not something that people go out and choose to become, it is simply who they are. Being gay does not mean their love is any less real, in fact it may be more real as they know it’s not just their body’s physical instinct kicking in trying to reproduce its own species.
I have been on the fence about your political campaign with a friend in the tea party trying to steer me in your direction, but after hearing your words, I am off the fence and know with great certainty that I will not be voting for you. I I think I will cast my ballot for Kristin Davis. She’s not afraid of homosexuals and is willing to treat them as equals by legalizing gay marriage.
We are always telling children to be themselves, and to not be afraid to show who they really are. What do you think a message like your words sends? It says be yourself, as long as we approve who you are. And is there are restrictions on when it is OK for children to be themselves, what is the point of telling them to be themselves? It is not the place of a politician to jump on the hate band wagon. Your campaign slogan may be mad as hell, but you seem to be mad at the wrong things.
That you are in essence telling them they are poison and she be quarantined away from the general public.
Think about the bully in the school yard who heard what you had to say. You’ve set an example that speaking out against LGBT people is OK, so he has license to harass his classmates who might be different. Not only does this harassment lead to suicides, but verbal abuse often becomes physical abuse. In the last few days, articles in the local newspaper have told how several gang member tortured and teenagers whom they suspected of being gay. You may not agree with the gay lifestyle, but that is no reason to sentence them to death.
You criticize your opponent for marching in the Gay Price Parade, but what better way to show open-mindedness and promote acceptance and peace than to do so?
You balk at the title “Gay Pride,” but why is this any more offensive than “Black Pride?” It is simply a way for people to celebrate the fact that they are OK with the way God made them.
“There is nothing to be proud of in being a dysfunctional homosexual” you say. How about there’s nothing to be proud of in being a homophobic redneck.
