Dearest Ron,
Your latest ad against Senator Russ Feingold is appalling. In case you forget which one it is, because you have so many of them and the ones you refuse to disclose who paid for them (like you don’t know who paid for them); it is this one: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-bK82dnouJ0
First of all, do not blame the whole deficit problem on one person – in this case Senator Russ Feingold. Times have changes in 18 years. Ever heard of inflation? Let’s talk about some of the big things. George W Bush got us into 2 huge wars; neither of which we should be in because we the people were given bad information and pushed to go to war. Of course really, deep down we know it is really all about the oil. Oil you need to keep your plastics business running. That is a huge portion of the current debt.
I realize you are an CPA and number crunching and manipulation is part of your game. Yeah, I know manipulation of the numbers happens; even when filing taxes. You know CPAs like to bury stuff. And if I was a betting woman (of wait, I am) I am sure that you have done some of that yourself.
Oops, got off point, hey just like you do at debates. My point is, a lot has happened in 18 years in this country that has caused the debt to go up. Wars, disasters, terrorist attacks, 5 years of the Bush’s, the race to space, a huge oil spill in the gulf, etc. I am sure there is more but those are the big ones. Then President Obama had to bail out Big Corporations because of their foolish spending to keep the country afloat that was already going down the toilet when he took office. Yep, we needed a stimulus to keep us from going into a major depression. It staved it off. We are now doing better because of it. It will be a rocky road but we will come out of it ok. Of course, every one likes to blame President Obama for this as well, because of course he cause this deficit as well. Let’s see you blame Senator Feingold, the country, not as a whole, blame President Obama; so whose fault is it really? It really is George W Bush’s fault. Amazing how many people in this country have amnesia.
When George W Bush took office we had money. We were in the black. And when President Obama took office we were deep in the red. But you want to blame this on man, Senator Russ Feingold?! Sorry Ron, he isn’t the only Senator, he isn’t the one writing the checks, and the House had to agree to such spending and for the most part it was a Republican house and George W didn’t veto the spending, the wars (well he lied to everyone about it), the tax cuts for the rich, etc. But you Ron, want to blame Senator Russ Feingold.
He is fiscally responsible. He doesn’t take a pay raise and part of his budget at the end of the year is also returned to help reduce the deficit. He is the author of the Control Spending Now Act. He is for Enforcing Budget Discipline and Balancing Our Nation’s Books. He is for Ending the Automatic Pay Raise for Members of Congress. He is for Cutting Wasteful Government Spending and Making Current Spending Smarter. Senator Feingold has been named numerous times to the non-partisan Concord Coalition’s “Honor Roll” for his votes to cut the federal deficit. Russ has been named the top “Taxpayer Guardian” in the Senate by Taxpayers for Common Sense, an independent, non-partisan group that monitors the spending of taxpayer money. Russ has also been recognized by the pro-Republican group Club for Growth for his votes to curb wasteful spending.
But you blame him? Someone who is trying to get spending under control. Wow. I am not sure if you are ignorant, arrogant or both. Leaning towards both.
So, I ask you, since you dodge these points during the debates. What do YOU plan to do? Creative Destruction or do you have something else specific in mind? You have yet to really say how YOU plan on taking care of the wasteful spending. You have been to busy mud slinging.
Are you going to fight losing your pay raise? Or will you accept no pay raises like Senator Feingold does, if you make it (stress if) you get elected? My guess is probably not.
You do not have my vote Mr. Johnson. I see through your ads and into your soul through your eyes.
Cheers!
