A Portrait of Life
A portrait, a picture of life,
A picture of joy,
A picture of dreams,
Some of the pictures will be extreme,
That is how one grow,
With a portrait of their life,
Fighting for those whom we love,
Living, forgiving, repenting, asking God to help us change,
Building and rebuilding relationships,
Learning and growing from past mistakes,
To be an example in someone else’s life,
None of us is perfect,
Oh not me,
When I look at my portrait,
I see victory,
The things that once held me down,
Can’t hold me anymore,
Whatever my situation may be, I am content,
A portrait of my life,
When you look at it,
Would you see what I see?
Judgment is not the first thing you should look for,
Dividing truth and applying where it should be,
If one had it all together,
There would be no growth,
God would not be able to make and mold us the way we need to be,
Trials come to make us strong,
Sometime we don’t understand,
However, it is all in God’s plan.
However, God works from the inside out,
When my friends and associates look at my portrait,
Do they judge me to harsh?
What do they say?
Your portrait will only tell your story,
Every person that read it will have a different story,
Because they have not been where God have taken you through,
Moreover, they don’t what He is taking you too,
When we look or read about another’s life,
The best medications are prayer and speak positive words of life,
There are people, who will try to tear down your portrait before it is built,
So, take the broken pieces and make you a quilt.
A portrait of life,
Will show all the setbacks,
In addition, how God made them comebacks!
