I like many Kashi brand food products and when I spotted Kashi Mexicali Black Bean Pizza in the frozen pizzas section of my local grocery store, I was delighted. I am a big fan of black beans and I was absolutely astounded that this ingredient was included on a frozen pizza. Oh, I just had to purchase this pizza, try it out and write a product review all about my experience with it. This is what I discovered!
Kashi Mexicali Black Bean Pizza is affordable and priced around five dollars, more or less, depending on where you buy this frozen pizza at. One pizza has three servings in it. The toppings include fire roasted tomatillos, poblano peppers, red peppers, corn, mozzarella and cheddar cheeses, a spicy black bean sauce, all on a stone fired kashi seven whole grains and sesame with flax seed crust. Whew! That is indeed a mouthful of intriguing ingredients. I could not wait to taste this pizza.
With nine grams of whole grains, 13 grams of protein, lots of fiber, low cal and low cholesterol, this pizza is indeed a healthy choice for meatless pizza lovers. This product is vegetarian. The preparation is easy. I preheated my oven to 425 degrees. I placed the pizza directly on the middle oven rack and baked for eight minutes. This pizza was ready in a jiffy. It smelled fantastic and looked great!
When I tasted Kashi Mexicali Black Bean Pizza, I loved it! It is very flavorful, with a crispy crust. The toppings were great. Yes, black beans actually can go well on a pizza. Who knew? I didn’t. What a discovery. This is a fun and creative pizza to serve. It will delight vegetarians and I enjoyed the taste. I rate it four stars out of five stars. I will be buying this frozen pizza again. It is vegetarian friendly and good. Well worth the money.
