I am a fan of many Kashi brand food products but, I had never tried one of their frozen meals before. When I came across Kashi Red Curry Chicken Dinner in the frozen dinners section of my local grocery store, I was intrigued. I decided to purchase it, try it and write a product review all about it. Here is what I discovered!
The ingredients in Kashi Red Curry Chicken Dinner really caught my attention. This is a single serving meal. It has seven whole grains on a mission in it, of course but, also a sesame rice pilaf, chicken breast, fire roasted sweet potatoes, bok choy, red peppers, kale, bamboo shoots, all in a zesty Thai style red curry sauce. Wow! That sounded great. I could not wait to taste this interesting meal. It is affordable, costing around three dollars.
I discovered lots of good things about this frozen dinner. It is low in calories, rich in fiber and protein, all natural and minimally processed. It also comes in an eco friendly box. This company is kind to the earth and I like that very much. Kashi makes a difference in our environment and that is appreciated by me. Kashi Red Curry Chicken Dinner is perfect for microwave cooking and that is how I chose to prepare it. I vented the tray film cover, microwaved on high for two and one half minutes, lifted the cover back and stirred, re covered and continued cooking on high for two more minutes. I then let this dish stand for two minutes before serving. It smelled and looked wonderful.
When I tasted this meal, I loved it. It is so very different, unusual and creative. This dish is Thai style to the max and liking Thai food is a must for enjoying this meal. The rice pilaf is so tasty, the chicken breast is tender and juicy and the fire roasted sweet potatoes were a highlight in the dish. I also loved the kale and bamboo shoots. The Thai red curry sauce is zesty, spicy and so yummy. There is a magnificent blend of sweet, spicy and many other flavors in this dish that is amazing. Lots of fun to eat and this meal takes the boring out of the frozen meal experience, for sure. I rate Kashi Red Curry Chicken Dinner four stars out of five stars. I will be buying it again. I am a sweet potato lover and never would have tried putting that ingredient in this type of dish. It worked very well, in my opinion. I will say that this dinner is a pleaser for the daring food lovers.
