It is the Christmas time and our family is taking a road trip to Los Angeles and we going to spend time with my sister-in law.
We have all the Christmas packages and the camper is full and the children is all ready to go. We are on our way, spending all day driving on Interstate 5 and now we have reached our destination and everyone is all tucked into their beds.
The next day, we are off to Disneyland. What a exciting day, and the children are loving this special day. Going on all the rides and now the park is closing and it is time to go home. Everyone is so tired, from walking around and riding all the rides and from all the excitement.
Spending quality time with family members and friends and now it is time to go back home. Leaving very early in the morning we have packed up everything that night. On the road trip back home and we are traveling on Interstate 5, and we have turned off onto highway 24, going through the Lower Lakes and Lake Port, California.
We have traveled around Lake Port and now we are traveling on Highway 101. It is raining and the roads are slick and I must have fallen asleep, the music is playing and I suddenly woke up and we are traveling on the wrong side of the road. I gently touched my husband and he opened his eyes and he was able to get the truck steered back in to the right lane. He was able to pull over for a minute. There was no one else traveling on the road. We stopped at the next gas station.
We are so very thankful that nobody was injured. My husband was shaking and we are drinking some coffee. He drove the rest of the way home with our eyes wide open and made it home. This is something that we will both remember, forever.
