“And he commanded the people to sit down on the ground: and he took the seven loaves, and gave thanks, and brake, and gave to his disciples to set before them; and they did set them before the people. And they had a few small fishes: and he blessed, and commanded to set them also before them. So they did eat, and were filled: and they took up of the broken meat that was left seven baskets.” Mark 8:6-9 (King James Version)
We come now, God, to give Thee thanks, and ask
That Thou will show us how to act as one
To share all that which we receive in Thee
With others who have less, or worse yet, none.
As You did multiply the loaves and fish
Please increase all our efforts in Your Name.
As we sow love and caring in this world,
Lord, gather up the harvest of the same.
May everything we say and do out there
Reflect the joy and peace we feel within –
The joy of being Yours, where ‘ere we go
The peace of knowing cleansing from our sin.
One day is not enough to give You thanks
A lifetime spent in praise could not contain
Our gratitude for what You’ve given us
Our King You are, and always will remain.
