Airborne is my favorite way to knock out a cold before it starts. I even have my favorite flavors of Airborne, and have published in the past the best flavors of Airborne to try: read it here: The Best Flavours of Airborne Cold and Flu Medicine. However, if Airborne is just too expensive for your budget (it ranges from anywhere from $6 to upwards of $8 per package depending on where you buy), the less expensive off-brands have the same basic concept of Airborne and work quite well.
On the odd occasion where my budget just doesn’t allow me to buy my trusted Airborne product, which does great in boosting my immunity and keeping a current cold from lasting for weeks, I have purchased store brands or off-brands in the past. I’ve noticed a slight difference in flavor and fizziness but overall the products seen to work quite well.
Walmart produces a decent version of Airborne, and it is a few dollars cheaper. This is the one I tried, and I noticed overall that the fizzy effect wasn’t quite as strong and the orange flavor was more bitter than classic Airborne, but it does the trick when you need to knock out a cold or the fear of getting a cold on a tighter budget. You also have to stir the product a little more, or wait longer for the tablet to fizz out completely, but it works, and that is all that matters.
I’ve seen other versions of Airborne in other stores, like Target. Pretty much any major grocery store seems to have some generic version of Airborne on the shelves now as cold and flu season are storming upon us. My suggestion is to try what you can afford, but if you really want the good stuff, Airborne is still tops.
To get Airborne cheaper, why not check out eBay to buy a few packages on the cheap? You can get multi-paks of your favorite flavors and I recently purchased a 36 pack of Airborne for $15. Not too shabby. This is what I would suggest, as if you want to stick with Airborne but are afraid of the price, eBay can suit your budget wonderfully and you can get a lot of tablets of Airborne for less.
But if you just don’t want to wait for your Airborne to be shipped to you and can’t afford Airborne in the store, you can get the generic store brands and still be satisfied with them.
