First let me just say a lot of people wrote the Giants off and said Dallas was going to run the NFC East, but the Giants have surprised everyone. If they can manage not to turn over the ball, they are the team to beat in the NFC in my book. Now on to the matter at hand. I came in tied for first place in weeks 6 and 7, let’s see if I can keep the streak going. Here are my Week 8 NFL Predictions, I took a few more chances this week, here it goes!
San Francisco 49’ers vs The Denver Broncos (In London) CBS
I was listening to Mike & Mike In The Morning and Golic said. “This game could start another Revolutinary War. This is what you think of us, you send us this crap!” While I laughed hard for a minute, I’m not sure if its that serious. But I have to admit, I would be a little disappointed to get stuck with this game, the way but of these two teams are playing this season. I have no faith in either of these teams right now but since there has to be a winner, or better put a team that doesn’t lose, maybe the change of scenery and a different country might help the 49’ers get a second win! Prediction: San Fransciso 49’ers
Jacksonville Jaguars vs The Dallas Cowboys (CBS)
What better than facing a team that also has had a awful season to date to get ya feet wet so to speak. In boxing they give new boxers tune up fights with boxers they can beat to build their confidence. Even though Dallas hasn’t been able to put it all together, The jacksonville Jaguars may be the perfect opponent for Jon Kitna. A good game for the team to rally around their back up, oops I mean new starting quarterback. I don’t know hwo many game they will win without Romo but look for the Cowboys to run all over Jacksonville this week. Prediction Dallas Cowboys.
Miami Dolphins vs The Cincinati Bengals (CBS)
I think Carson, Owens and Ochocinco will find away to hold it down and get it right this week at home against Miami. I expect Carson to air it out often and at will against a weak Miami secondary. Both teams will be (3-4) when the dust clears. Prediction: Cincinati Bengals
Buffalo Bills vs The Kansas City Chiefs (CBS)
Buffalo’s best wasn’t good enough last week and basically it won’t be good enough this week either, enough said! Prediction: Kansas City Chiefs.
Washington Redskins vs Detriot Lions (FOX)
While McNabb hasn’t exactly been performing at the level I thnk he is still capible of, I do think the Redskins will be able to hold off the (1-5) Lions even in the Motor City. Prediction: Washington Redskins
Carolina Panthers vs St Louis Rams (FOX)
Neither team playing that well but I think St Louis will just barely be able to come away with a win and go (4-4). Prediction: St Louis Rams
Green Bay Packers vs The New York Jets (FOX)
This has all the making of being the game of the week. A high scoring old fashion shoot out between Mark Sanchez and Aaron Rodgers. But even if ends up being a close one, coming down to the last play of the game, possibly decided by a field goal, I see the Jets prevailing at home. Prediction: New York Jets
Tennessee Titans vs The San Diego Chargers (CBS)
The Titans have been doin their thing but I just got a feeling and I might be crazy but I think the Chargers are gonna get it together and pull off an upset at home this week. Prediction: San Diego Chargers
Minnesota Vikings vs The New England Patriots (FOX)
Brett Farve or not, I don’t think it will make a difference, except for maybe whether his streak is still alive or not. Randy Moss’ return to Foxboro may be a disappointment, although I expect him to be received well by the fans. Prediction: New England Patriots
Tampa Bay Buccaneers vs The Arizona Cardinals (FOX)
Not much to say about this one. Prediction: Tampa Bay Buccaneers
Seattle Seahawks vs Oakland Raiders (FOX)
I had to skip this one and come back to it when I was done. If the Raiders can protect Jason Campbell and avoid truning the ball over, I don’t think even Seattle’s kicker Olindo Mare can save the Seahawks this week! Expect Raiders’ RB Darren McFadden to have another big afternoon! Prediction: Oakland Raiders
Pittsburgh Steelers vs The New Orleans Saints (Sunday Night Football) NBC
Much to my surprise, it was the Browns that came marching in last week, not the Saints. While the Saints may have lost the Superbowl Swagga, I didn’t see that coming. I expect a better showing this week. With that said, this could be another great quarterback battle. This should be a close one. Decided at the end by a field goal or perhaps maybe even overtime. I betting Brees will be better than Ben, come Sunday night. Prediction: New Orleans Saints.
Houston Texans vs The Indianapolis Colts (Monday Night Football) ESPN
This should be a great divisional rivalry. Another great MNF match up. Both teams come in tied at (4-2) and are doin their thing on offense. But Manning and his merry men will wear out Hosuton defense which can be suspect at times. Prediction: Indianapolis Colts.
Byes: Falcons, Ravens, Bears, Browns, Giants, Eagles
