Located at the City Hall 600TH Ave. Downtown Seattle, WA. September 16, 2010 in the lobby Latin American music filled the lobby hall from the group AMA.
Amy Denio, the lead plays the violin, maracas, and a drum while singing some beautiful Brazilian like music. To some, this singing may sound like a bunch of whining that needs to be let out of a bottle and the beat may seem a little off when compared to the American style music that we are used to. However, Amy’s music is actually built upon the Latin American style to help bring peace and love to the world. Her audience and love was flowing from her heart as Amy reached out to hug others and socialized with whoever had approached her. Amy shared a smile with those around and spoke with a pure heart.
Madeleine shared one song for the soldiers’ in which was about spreading peace throughout the world as well as encouraging others to speak out for peace and compassion. Madeleine played the accordion, and clarinet adding to the seemingly offbeat sensation.
Abel from Mexico, has been working with Amy for over 14 years. Their chemistry and communication in music that these two share has created quite a phenomenal contrast between storytelling and passion for music. Abel played the harp and many different guitars. His foreign talent adds spiciness to this dynamic trio.
All in all, this concert was worth every second of my time. However, the acoustics within the lobby of City Hall has horrible sound and from the top of the stairs where I sat, there is terrible sound quality. The concert is worth it to go to but I would suggest sitting or standing at a ground level where it is easier to hear the group singing.
