An article entitled, Ola Student receives award from HCFD for heroic action was published in the September 15, 2010 edition of the Henry County Times.
This brief accounting tells the story of a young man who saved his step-father’s life. He is a student named Addison Wootton. Addison is a football player.
According to the article, “On September 10, 2009, Wootton performed CPR and other life-saving measures that ultimately saved the life of his step-father, Mr. Rick Prevatt”.
Addison was honored by the Henry County Fire Department at a recent prayer breakfast for Ola High School’s Football Team.
It is apparent that Addison was quite adept in administering proper techniques involving CPR. This should serve as an example to all of us the importance of knowing CPR. One can never tell when they may need to use it on someone or be the recipient of such services.
And because of Addison’s actions, I proudly acknowledge him as today’s American Hero. You have definitely made a positive difference.
