Lets face it. Fat is stubborn and hard to burn off. Some people can run on the treadmill for miles and see no results for a long time. On top of that, cardio is just plain boring. Fortunately, there is a way to make your workouts MUCH shorter and twice as effective! This is a little secret that my weight lifting coach revealed to me about a year ago and it has worked wonders.
The “secret” that my coach told me about was so simple, but yet it made so much sense. The basic principle is this: to work out in the morning before eating breakfast. Why would anybody want to do this you ask? Well, during the night while you are sleeping your body burns all the calories that you ate the previous day, and when you wake up, your stomach is empty. At this time, your body craves food to replenish its energy source, but instead of eating, try working out in the morning. Whether it is lifting weights, running, walking, or swimming, it does not matter as long as you are active. As you are exercising without anything in your stomach, your body will burn the only energy source it has left: fat.
Naturally the body uses up more common energy source such as sugars and carbohydrates first and stores fat deposits in your body for consumption at another time. Lets say I work out after lunch and I run for 30 minutes on the treadmill and burn off the 800 calories i had just ate. After the calories are burnt off, now my body switches to fat burning mode because there are no other energy sources left. The principle of this secret is to completely bypass this stage off burning carbs and sugars and to go straight to burning fat. When working out in the morning before eating as opposed to during the day, you can burn almost three times as much fat in almost the third of the time! I guarantee you will see results in only one week.
However there is one downside to this method. Because working out before eating means your running on an empty stomach, it will be hard to work out for over 30 minutes or so. From personal experience I can say that it will become unbearable. The amazing part is that you only need to work out for about 15 minutes to burn off a decent amount of fat. There are many ways to burn fat, but this is by far one of the most effective ways to go about it.
