An anti-gay Bishop himself will head a Georgia rally against Eddie Long to step down and resign from his position within the New Birth Missionary Church, based in Atlanta, Ground Zero Report reports. The leader of the rally gaining support is Bishop Prophet H. Walker of True Light Pentecost Church in Spartanburg. Will the fact alone that H. Walker believes in anti-gay sentiments send a controversial message?
Aside from the belief that H. Walker has probably preached the same anti-gay rhetoric Eddie Long has, it’s about the integrity of Long’s position which makes him call for the Long to step down.
Bishop wants integrity restored in Eddie Long’s church
H. Walker said that Eddie Long is a “bad influence on the Christian church and future generations.” He continued that the rally will “support the integrity character of the Christian faith.”
Bishop Eddie Long’s scandal began when four men came forward claiming that Long used bible scripture to lure them into a world of sexual abuse by the mega church leader.
“When this first came out, I wouldn’t follow it,” Walker admitted.
However, when the number of lawsuits began building, the Bishop decided a rally in Georgia was needed in urging Eddie Long to step down.
Georgia rally scheduled for Oct. 31 at State Capitol
The rally in Georgia will be held in Atlanta at the State Capitol on October 31 at 2:00 p.m. An elder of the True Light Pentecost Church is reported to estimate about 100 people will attend the rally in Georgia against Long. Some will travel from various churches and others will be invited.
Bishop Walker have another agenda in heading Georgia rally?
It’s ironic that a Bishop holding the rally has stated he’s anti-gay himself and that the church he leads is against homosexuality. Is he really about the integrity of the church where Eddie Long is concerned or is he out to make him resign because he knows Long may have gay tendencies himself?
With today’s scandals in religions, it’s not an unreasonable question. So many leaders who head the church congregation seem to have their own agendas.
