Many people are members of churches that are under the banner of a Christian church.
Many of these churches that claim to be Christian churches do Not believe in and proclaim all of the Essential doctrines of Christianity. Unfortunately their members are only church members and Not members of The Body of Christ known as Christians unless they have come into the knowledge of the truth elsewhere and believed it. There are Essential doctrines of belief that are required by the Bible to be considered as part of the Christian faith. There are 5 and I have listed them below with references.
” It is Stated specifically in The Bible that these cannot be denied and still be a Christian. “Denial ofAny one of these demonstrates a lack of salvation.” (Christian Research Apologetics ministry)
I. There is Only ONE God (Exodus 20:3; Isaiah 43:10; 44:6,8)
AND He Exists as Three Persons of The Father, The Son and The Holy Spirit ,(IJn. 5:7, IICor. 13:14)
II. Jesus is The Son of God and is both God and man (John 3:16, 1:1,14, 8:24, 1 John 4:1-4) Col. 2:9
III. Jesus rose from the dead physically (John 2:19-21; 1 Cor. 15:14).
IV. Salvation is by grace through faith in Jesus Alone (Rom. 5:1; Eph. 2:8-9; Gal. 3:1-2; 5:1-4).
V. The gospel is the death, burial, and resurrection of Jesus (1Cor. 15:1-4)
Some evidences of True Salvation can be found in these verses (II Cor. 5:17, Romans 8:9-11, Ephesians 1:13), 1 John 3:24). If you don’t believe these things you are Not a Christian. If your church is not proclaiming and upholding these things you should leave so you won’t be eternally condemned also. (Gal. 1:8) “But even if we or an angel from heaven should preach a gospel other than the one we preached to you, let him be eternally condemned!” NIV
You can be a member of a solid Bible believing and teaching church and not personally believe the Essentials you are Not a Christian. You are just a church member and you are Lost not Saved.
The essentials presented above Must be believed to claim True Christianity. 2 Other Biblical practices and observances Should become clear in your belief system as you mature and study God’s word. #1 Water baptism, #2 Holy Communion/The Lord’s Supper. If you seriously read and study God’s word/The Bible you will conclude that God exists eternally as Three Persons in The One God The Father, The Son and The Holy Spirit. Water baptism and Holy Communion are acts of obedience after one is saved that should be recognized as a vital part of being a Christian. Water baptism should be done as soon as possible after receiving salvation to proclaim publicly that you have been born again. Holy Communion should be participated in regularly. If the church you are in does not offer these two sacraments regularly you should look for one that does.
