The Arizona Cardinals travel to take on a Minnesota Vikings team that is in need of a huge win November 7th. Categorize this game as someone has to win. The Minnesota Vikings are talent laden but they continue to play inconsistently on offense. The Arizona Cardinals are a team in flux also with a quarterback situation that is up in the air and the best wide receiver in football that can’t get his hands on the ball.
Arizona Cardinals Offense vs Minnesota Vikings Defense
Max Hall and the Arizona Cardinals offense sputtered as they adjusted to each other. Now with the possibility of Derek Anderson moving back into the number one spot the team will have to once again adjust. The Arizona Cardinals best player, Larry Fitzgerald has been increasingly frustrated with the situation but the main reason he is being shut down was the injury to Steve Breaston.
Fitzgerald is getting double teamed most games with no other options to worry about. Now that Breaston is healthy and Derek Anderson is back in the fold, Fitzgerald may get more balls. The running game will also need to get in gear with Beanie Wells and Tim Hightower not averaging more than 100 yards per game as a tandem.
The Minnesota Vikings are still one of the best defensive squads in the NFL but their pressure off the line needs to pick up the pace. The defense is still stout against the run and they are not giving up many yards in the air. The cornerback position is the most vulnerable, with the Minnesota Vikings Chris Cook has been smoked several times and Lito Shepard along with Ashley Allen is not one of the best secondary players in the NFL. The Minnesota Vikings defense have a decided edge over the Arizona Cardinals offense.
Minnesota Vikings Offense vs Arizona Cardinals Defense
Another week of Brett Favre leading up to this game and anyone that is not tired of hearing Brett Favre updates must be comatose. Favre may be in this game wheeling around a wheelchair for the Minnesota Vikings but he will be in. Look for the Minnesota Vikings to punish the Arizona Cardinals inside with Adrian Peterson and Toby Gerhart. Once the run is established the passing game will be unleashed on the Arizona Cardinals defense.
Joey Porter is not living up to replacing Karlos Dansby at linebacker. The weakness for the Arizona Cardinals is stopping the run and this not good news with Adrian Peterson in the opposing line up. The Arizona Cardinals defense will need to bring the pressure on Favre or Tavaris Jackson to force errors in the passing game. The Minnesota Vikings offense has a major edge over the Kansas City Chiefs defense.
