I’ve seen in the news yesterday
It was totally true;
A country waged war against another
To restrict weapons of mass destruction
As it turns out
No weapon was found.
I’ve read in the history book;
It was a true story;
A man had a dream
Of using a cross to win the battle
When he woke up
The dream came true;
Now we know him as Constantine.
I’ve read in an anthology the other day
It seemed true;
Father promised his son a car
But on the boy’s 17th birthday
All boy got as gift was a bible.
Anger made him run away
He came back on his father’s funeral
And with time there he found:
Inside the bible was a check for the car.
I heard from the Internet one day
I know it’s totally false;
A man loved his fiancée
But just before wedding day,
A storm occurred.
A lightening struck the man’s fiancée
And she’s been pale white ever since.
And because of this,
The man became to founder of a charity organization.
I look back at my life
It doesn’t seem real sometimes;
Being forced to come to America
And finding out in the end
That this is the best thing to happen to me
Learning now through so many mishaps
A continuation of coincidences beyond
There’re so many uncontrolled factors
Events are beyond my will
Things happen so ironically
As if everything is planned before
Every day goes by
I know your life is like mine
It’s as if
Someone above you is writing a book:
The book of our fate.
The author has the power of the pencil
Creating these ironic events
Which I know are not just coincidences.
As if by fate?
No, no —
Fate’s already been decided
You just have to play along
And hope that you fulfill your destiny,
Whatever the hell that may be.
