Atlanta has had a growing traffic problem for years now with tons of road construction going on and the over populated areas. I drive daily from Henry County to Kennesaw on I-75 and have hit many traffic jams. I finally started trying new paths and leaving at different times. I’ll give you a few of my tips below.
Tip 1. Leave early. If I leave at at 5 am I can make it though Atlanta with no problems, but if I leave at 6 am I will hit lots of jams. If your coming home try leaving at 3 pm because after 4 pm the traffic will start to pick up.
Tip 2. If you can’t leave early try to leave a little bit later. If you leave in the mornings at 8 am the traffic has normally calmed down. If your leaving work a good time to beat the traffic is to leave at 6 pm.
Tip 3. HOV lane is the best way to zoom past traffic anywhere I-75 has it.
Tip 4. If you can’t change the times you have to drive though Atlanta try finding shortcuts around main highways entering I-75.
Tip 5. If a cop has someone pulled over don’t be a rubber necker. Traffic tends to build up where there are emergency vehicles on the side of the road. Do drive safer around them for their safety and yours but try not to cause a traffic jam.
I hope these tips will help you travel though Atlanta a little bit easier.
