I can hardly imagine a company planning to spend 25 million bucks on ads for baby carrots. I think baby carrots given for a Halloween treat would result in tomatoes being lopped at the front porch.
Baby carrots packaged in spooky wrapping with a washable tattoo inside would not do much for this kid. Don’t get me wrong carrots, are a very nutritious food. I love carrots as finger food on a vegetable tray, in my salads, or cooked with a pot roast.
Carrots, the bright orange jewels that offer so much value to our diet are about to embark as the new ‘snack food.” Farmers of baby carrots are going to be promoting the crunchy orange carrots as daring, fun and naughty to convince people that baby carrots are a fun snack and not just plain old carrots.
A new Website features male voices and metal music chanting “Baby Carrots, Extreme.” Producers are planning to turn baby carrots into a brand name and packaged baby carrots with glow-in-the-dark temporary tattoos, will be available in October, to be offered as Halloween treats.
An increase in television ads and new packaging will be introducing the baby carrots to the consumer in a big way. Carrots are a very important food that offers, vitamin C, carotene and fiber. Carrots add color and taste to salads and baby carrots are excellent to add to vegetable trays as a finger food and served with dips.
Baby carrots have the same food value as standard size carrots. I hope the product is well accepted and the farmers benefit from the cost of the promotion.
