Baby’s Day Out, starring Joe Mantegna, is a fun movie for the entire family. Older kids and small children will just love it. This is one of those movies that I do not mind watching more than once.
It is the story about a baby who comes from a pretty wealthy family. One day the parents wanted to have pictures taken of him at their house. The photographers, three men, who end up coming, are really thieves. They distract the mother and the nanny as best as they can. At one point, the mother wants to go upstairs and change her outfit. The nanny was going to stay with the baby, but the three men said that some time alone with the baby would be good so he can get used to them. While the mother and nanny go upstairs to change, the thieves quickly leave with the baby in their van. When the mother and nanny come downstairs, to their dismay, the baby is gone. The baby appears to be anywhere from six to nine months old.
What makes this movie captivating is that the baby some how gets away from these three crooks by escaping through a window. While on his journey, he visits different places according to his storybook that he has at home. One place is a bus, a taxi cab, the park, a zoo, and finally at a home of veteran soldiers. The baby pretty much goes to these places in the order of the storybook. At the end, he if finally found at the home. The nanny remembered from the storybook, where he may have gone to since they searched all the other places for him.
All throughout the movie, funny things happen at each stop that the baby makes. Besides the cops looking for the baby, the three men are also on the hunt. They originally wanted to kidnap the baby to get money from the rich family. So, they have to find him as soon as possible.
If you are looking for a fun night with the family, this is a great movie to see.
