Katy Perry can’t be too worried about the recent mishap surrounding fiancé Russell Brand. On the heels of Brand’s citizen’s arrest in Los Angeles on Friday, Perry continued with her normally scheduled programming – her bachelorette party. Life won’t be put on hold for this party gurl!
It appears that things aren’t always fun and games, after all. According to Katy, her future husband was protecting her from a paparazzo’s prying camera. But, that’s what you should expect, when you put your scantily-clad self out there to the public. It’s not right, but it’s the persona that you’ve created.
Where is the line drawn when it comes to celebrities? In today’s society, singers like Katy Perry are far from prudish in their actions and attire. When you give people the idea that “anything goes”, wouldn’t it be safe to assume that you’ll be pursued in the same manner? It is a tough task to get fans, or the media, to distinguish between you as a celebrity figure and you as a human being.
With Brand being the funnyman that he is, people naturally expect that he’ll be okay with whatever happens. But, we found out that he’s got a serious side when it comes to his lady. It is unfortunate that celebrities are hunted the way they are, but with much success comes much responsibility. And, if you’re going to be an outrageous celebrity, you’ve got to know that you’ll be sought after!
But, we don’t blame Katy for letting the good times roll on Saturday. In fact, that’s what we expected her to do. Certainly, it wouldn’t be right to let her guests down, especially when one of them is Rihanna. But, more importantly, Katy has an image to uphold. The same image that got her significant other in trouble in the first place.
But, if it doesn’t bother Perry, it doesn’t bother us! Hopefully, Brand won’t be punished too harshly for his actions. It would be a shame for someone like him to be reprimanded for protecting another’s civil rights, while Paris Hilton is allowed to escape jail for possessing illegal substances. What is the world coming to?
Party on, Katy. Oh, and good job, Russell! It’s nice to see that chivalry is not dead. It just comes in different forms lately, like men with great hair who have a wickedly funny imagination. Approach them at your own risk. They get feisty!
