College is a place where people go to better themselves and get a better understanding of who they really are. College is also a place where people often meet their future spouses. While this may seem ideal, managing a relationship in college is no easy thing to do. It requires much patience and balancing of school work and time with one another. Here I list some tips of how to balance your college criteria with your loving relationship.
School comes first
When it comes to dating in college there is one major rule I feel that everyone should abide to and that is that school comes first. It is the reason you are where you are, so if there ever comes a time where you have to choose between a lovely date and study time for an exam, remember that school will always come first. Once your school work is done, then you can hang out with your loved one.
Make time for each other
The college coursework can leave a full time student feeling as if their work is never done. This is why it is important to designate time for your boyfriend/girlfriend so as not to forget about or neglect them. One can do this by making a daily to-do list for themselves and then rewarding their accomplishment of completing the list with a movie with their significant other.
No one ever said that school work and your relationship should be kept separate. If you have an exam to study for and you would really like to spend time with your boyfriend/girlfriend, why not study together? Especially if both parties are in school, this means that the two of you can study together all the time.
While a relationship in college may seem ideal for many, it is no easy achievement. Like any relationship, it requires patience, hard work, and a balancing of all the other things one holds dear to their heart. Regardless of its ease or difficulty, a relationship in college is definitely something that can be achieved. J
