As if Barney Frank needed another anchor bringing him down to the depths of his demise any faster in the Senate race! He was doing a fine job of this all on his own, but recently two “friends” stepped in to “help him along.” With friends like these, who needs enemies?
Senator Kerry, who is the closest thing to Massachusetts royalty since the death of Ted Kennedy, chimed in regarding the failing democratic ratings in the state. He specifically did this after coming to the defense of Barney Franks’ political moves, according to the Boston Herald.
Kerry dished out the blame to who he thought was at fault for the failing numbers in the polls for the Democrats in Mass. He is not blaming the fact that the reigning government is digging us a hole so deep in debt that it will take generations to see the light of day.
Kerry is not blaming it on the politicians who have promised us a change for the better, when the economy, job loss, and home foreclosures have taken a turn for the worse. No, he is blaming the voter! You, me, and the next guy.
First Kerry did so by calling the voters “ignorant” when it comes to casting their votes and the ignorance in their train of thought when it comes to the issues, according to the Boston Herald.
Kerry said that the voters are “Clueless” along with having a short attention span. They get caught up on simple election slogans rather than the facts or the truth about what is happening.
We are apparently simple people and do not appreciate the intellect the Democratic party has put in place to run the country. Is this Kerry’s version of “The Emperor has New Clothes”? He must think we are all ignorant enough to believe what he is saying to be true and soon we will be looking at the Democratic party as the Emperor with his new clothes.
This ridiculous statement of Kerry’s came while he was defending Barney Frank and choices that Frank has made. Kerry was basically saying that Barney Frank is smart and we, the voters are not.
There is more than one way to put the screws to a person when it comes to slithering through the inner workings of politics. It sounds as if Kerry does not hold Frank in high regard. After all, Kerry did not have this “voters are stupid speech” come after something he was discussing about himself.
This is food for thought especially since former President Clinton made a stop in Taunton Mass today, according to The Boston Globe. Barney Frank was getting a much needed boost in ratings with this Clinton appearance, although Frank denies that Clinton’s appearance was due to Frank falling in the polls.
It did not sound as if Clinton had too much regard for Frank either, he did throw a few generic bones Frank’s way, but it was all about the democratic party staying together and keeping the democrats in office no matter what the cost.
Translated in real down to earth talk: I know you do not want to vote for Frank again, and frankly (no pun intended) I do not blame you. Put the name “Frank” aside, do not vote for the man, vote for the party. This is basically what I got out of Clinton’s speech “for Barney Frank”.
So much for Clinton’s appearance in Taunton, and it wasn’t much different in Connecticut with Blumenthal when Clinton did the same for him in New Haven.
Clinton’s good will mission was visiting the Democrats who were on their way out and Clinton asked the voters to stick together for the party, saying things like, the democrats have a better handle on health care, fixing job loss statistics, and the economy over all
Now, how can the voters be expected to vote for Barney Frank after the sideshow his politician friends have put on in the last few days? With friends like these, you do not need enemies!
