When it comes to traffic on 3rd St. in DogPatch, the delays will not only be due to new construction on the site at Mission Bay. In addition to the changes that will need to occur with the streets and sidewalks near the site, there will also be infrastructure improvements associated with the water pump station.
Currently, it is cited in Board of Supervisor’s meeting notes as being under Bayfront Park along Terry and Francois Boulevard. However, don’t be surprised if the construction interferes with traffic up the road. Be on the lookout for stopped traffic, large trucks, and other work site related mishaps.
Often, when something large needs to be moved, the streets will shut down for a long time. This could mean that several blocks are shut down for several hours. There will most likely be detours in the park will be closed during that time. This also means that there will be an opportunity to suggest that something nicer goes into the place that was dug up in order to replace the storm water pump station in Mission Bay.
