Bare Minerals has a line of makeup included in their face line called “Radiance”.
These “powders” are crushed minerals that have different shades that you are supposed to be able to use on various parts of your face for different effects.
One could use the Radiance for an all over color or as a blush or highlight depending on the shade you have purchased.
For the purpose of this article I am going to do a brief overview of the “Clear Radiance”.
“Clear Radiance” is one of the first mineral products that I had ever purchased and I was unsure how to use this product for the longest time.
To use this powder as an all over face color is a bit much as it is very pearlescent and leaves a very dewy look on your face that is not too appealing if used too much.
This powder is a very lightweight, finely milled facial powder that has a strong pale pink undertone to it.
There is also quite a lot of shimmer and glitter in this product, but luckily it does not come out chunky after application.
So, how do you apply this properly?
You really need a light hand and a great brush to use Clear Radiance. This powder is best used as a highlighter or on top of a cheek color. When using a matte blush, sometimes the color is too flat and a little dab of this swirled on the apple of the cheeks would add a tiny bit of shimmer.
I like using this as a brow highlighter as highlights that are white might be too light and conflict with your other makeup.
You can also use this on your cheek bones and under the eyes for an instant eye brightening effect.
Clear Radiance is cool toned so women with yellow undertones might not find this as flattering. Women who have pinkish or reddish skin might find this hard to pull off also. I have a lot of pink in my face and I need to use only the smallest amount when applying. This does give a great finish though when applied in a small manner using a lot of blending along the way.
I would only recommend using this on top of foundation if you are wearing any and after your normal finishing powder. If you do use this before the regular face powder and then put on your setting powder that you could blend this shimmery product all over your face.
I have an oily t-zone and having something shiny on my nose or forehead is something I would rather avoid.
Some women might even use this as a highlight on the nose to make ones nose appear smaller, but I would not recommend that with this product.
This product comes in 2 sizes; the small retails for $13 while the medium sells for $18. This is the only product in the Radiance line that comes in a small.
I have the smaller version and have not even come close to using up a lot of product. I would not recommend getting the larger size because a little goes a long way and there is little chance you will finish the medium sized one in a year!
Overall, this is a good product to buy if you have been looking for a natural product that is good for highlighting. You could probably even double this as an eye shadow to get more wear if you’ re looking for a light pink shimmer color.
For the money, you do get a huge amount of Clear Radiance and if you are a Bare Minerals fanatic, than I would look into this if you want to add something new.
