Bowling can be a lot of fun and there are some great bowling centers throughout the north Denver area. Bowling is not only a good personal challenge, it’s also a great competitive sport. Most bowling alleys have schedules for open bowling that can accommodate people of all ages and skill levels, from the youngest who can barely lift the lightest weight ball to senior citizens. You certainly don’t have to be a professional bowler to enjoy this sport!
Bowling is not only a sport but it is a fitness activity as well. You definitely will use your arm and leg muscles as you make your approach and roll the ball down the lane. It helps improve your balance and coordination and definitely will exercise your arms, backs, fingers, hips and legs. Here are several great bowling alleys in the north Denver area that you and your family might want to visit.
1) Brunswick Zone
Brunswick Zone is one of my favorite bowling alleys. Their service and cleanliness is superior. The lane conditions are great for league bowling too. Their staff is friendly and helpful. They have open bowling for families and individuals and also have a Pro Shop, snack bar, cosmic bowling, glow in the dark and parties. Their prices per game are competitive and they offer more discount coupons than some of the other bowling centers in the area.
9150 Harlan St., Westminster, CO 80031, near 92nd Ave, just north of the Westminster Mall.
2) Sonesta Lanes Bowling Center
Sonesta is a smaller bowling alley but it’s very nice. Their league lane conditions for league bowling seem to be more challenging than some of the other bowling alleys. They provide open bowling to families when the leagues are not active. Their open bowling prices are competitive with other bowling centers in the area, however they don’t seem to give as many discount coupons as some of the other centers do.
8800 Grant St., Thornton, CO 80229, west of Washington, at 88th Ave.

3) Coal Creek Bowling Center
Located in Boulder County, this bowling center is far more traditional than some of the other locations but it is still a very nice bowling alley. It is well kept and has nice staff. They have a Pro Shop and snack bar also. Prices per game are reasonable. Their lane conditions are fair for league bowling.
Location: 500 S. Boulder Road, Lafayette, CO 80026
Hours: Monday through Thursday 9 AM to 11 PM, Friday through Sunday 9 AM to 1 AM
4) Splitz Bowling Center
If you’re looking for a break from the traditional, you must try Splitz Bowling Center. This is certainly not your typical bowling alley. Splitz can host up to 550 guests, has upscale décor, great entertainment options and state-of-the-art technology. Splitz is located in the Northern Denver Metro in the Westminster Promenade. It’s near the AMC Movie Theatre, restaurants local hotels. The clientele is generally not your typical bowling crowd. Price per game tends to be a little higher.
