The Cleveland, Ohio area is home to more than 30 movie theaters. If you are looking for a matinee for the kids or a theater for date night, there are many choices in and around Cleveland. From new and fancy to old and inexpensive, here are my picks for the best local movie theaters on Cleveland’s west side.
Cleveland, OH Movie Theaters: Regal Cinemas Middleburg Town Square 16
Regal Cinemas Middleburg Town Square 16 features 16 screens showing first run movies, including 3D and ReadD 3D releases.
The theater is very clean and has stadium seating, which helps if a tall person sits in front of you or your children. There are cup holders between each seat, although you will still have to fight over the arm rest. Each theater has a limited number of larger seats for those guests requiring more room.
Prices are $7 for children and seniors, and $7.50 for adults. 3D movies will cost an extra $3.00 but you get to keep the glasses. Concessions, as you might expect, are pricey. Expect to pay $3.00 to $3.50 for a bag of candy, and up to $8.00 for a barrel of popcorn.
Regal Cinemas Middleburg Town Square 16 is located at 18348 Bagley Road in Middleburg Heights. For showtimes call 800-326-3264 or 440-891-9863, or go online at http://www.fandango.com/regalmiddleburgtownsquare16_aaend/theaterpage?wssac=58&wssaffid=11481_REGWebsite.
Cleveland, OH Movie Theaters: Parma Theatre
The Parma Theatre is one of the oldest theaters in the area showing new release movies. It features three screens, but times are staggered so that four movies are shown each day.
While certainly not the cleanest or well kept theatre on my list, the Parma Theatre is an old favorite that offers the best prices in town. At just $4.50 for any movie Monday through Thursday, and every day for seniors and children, you will hard pressed to find a better deal anywhere. Adult prices for Friday through Sunday are $4.50 before 6:00 pm and $6.50 after 6:00.
The Parma Theatre is located at 5826 Ridge Road in Parma. For showtimes call 440-885-0600, or go online at www.parmatheatre.com.
Cleveland, OH Movie Theaters: Cinemark Strongsville
The Cinemark Strongsville theater is one of the newer theaters on Cleveland’s west side, and offers a respite from a long day of shopping in the Westfield Southpark Shopping Mall.
Sixteen screens with stadium seating show all the latest movies. As a bonus, if you don’t want to pay the high prices for concessions, simply visit the mall’s food court before the movie.
Prices run $6.25 for seniors and children, and $8.50 for adults. Adult admission on Fridays and Saturdays after 6:00 pm will cost $9.00. Movies in 3D will cost an extra $3.50 for the glasses.
Matinee pricing is $5.00 for the first showing of any movie, seven days a week. Be aware, if there are multiple showings of a movie (regular, 3D, digital, etc.), only the first showing is available at the matinee price. Monday is Senior Day, and all shows cost $5.00. Wednesday is Student Discount Day, and all shows cost $6.50 with valid ID.
The Cinemark Strongsville is located inside the mall at 17450 Southpark Center in Strongsville. For showtimes call 800-326-3264 or 440-878-3709, or go online at http://www.cinemark.com/theater_showtimes.asp?theater_id=383.
There are many movie theaters on Cleveland, Ohio’s west side, with prices to fit anyone’s budget. If you have not been to a theater lately, why not check out a movie the way it was intended to be seen: on the big screen. You might even want to splurge on some popcorn if it’s a special occasion.
