Malaysia is a country with one of the largest Muslim populations in the world. That’s why it’s surprising to many that Kuala Lumpur, the capital of Malaysia, has some of the best nightlife in south east Asia. In Kuala Lumpur, if you love bars, nightclubs and fine dining, you won’t know where to start, there’s just so much nightlife on offer and at a fraction of the cost of the west.
Chinoz on the Park – For some of the city’s best fine dining, you mustn’t miss Chinoz on the Park. Located in the massive KLCC mall, underneath the world famous Petronas Towers, Chinoz on the Park is a wonderful place to begin your evening.
Concentrating on European cuisine in a lovely atmosphere overlooking the beautiful KLCC park, Chinoz on the Park is sophisticated and stylish, yet still fun. Try one of their pastas or pizzas, which are wonderful, or how about just stopping off for a drink and tapas, before moving onto dinner at a different venue?
The Mandarin Grill – If you love elegance and a high-society environment, then look no further than The Mandarin Grill at the Mandarin Oriental Hotel. The crab cake with apple mikado is super, the tuna tataki is divine, and don’t miss dessert – the chocolate ganache slice is incredible.
Now on for drinks and the Sky Bar is the place to be in Kuala Lumpur. Situated at the Traders Hotel, the Sky Bar is absolutely gorgeous and has just about the best views in Kuala Lumpur other than those at the Petronas Towers – but you can see those from the windows of the Sky Bar, all lit up at night. Grab a martini or a glass of champagne and sit by the pool looking out over the city to the glittering streets below.
On for dancing and great music, of course, nightlife in Kuala Lumpur wouldn’t be complete with out the Hard Rock Cafe. Hard Rock Cafe is the place to be with its nightly local bands playing great music, djs and, if you want more food, it’s decent here too.
After a little music at Hard Rock Cafe, move on to the Pulse at the Grand Millennium Hotel. It’s here you’ll get to dance to R&B from celebrity DJs all night long, while knocking back a few drinks. Then, finish up a fun evening at Bar Italia on Jalan Berangan. Known for its excellent food it’s also a fun place to stop off for a nightcap at their rooftop bar that’s mellow, relaxed and a great place to wind down before heading off home to bed.
The nightlife in Kuala Lumpur is simply fabulous. So much so, when you leave, you’ll be desperate to get back soon so you can do it all over again.
