Sheridan, Wyoming has always been shy of restaurants in general, but there are some that cater to the senior community and offer some good discounts. Any new restaurant that opens in this small town is flooded with new customers trying to find some variety in the local fare. If you are a senior, you might want to avoid the crowds and stay with some local staples. It is a great feeling to be around peers your own age and if you can get a discount on your meal, then it is all the better.
JB’s Restaurant at 1294 Coffeen Ave in Sheridan offers truck stop style dining without the trucks. This family restaurant serves some of the best home style cooking in the city. The wait staff is friendly and their prices are fair. They do offer a senior discount and if you come in for the breakfast buffet it is really a bargain. The best thing on the menu is pie. JBs has a wonderful bakery and it is very popular around Thanksgiving. To avoid a crowd, you might not want to visit on Sunday morning due to the church crowd.
Silver Spur Restaurant and Café is a great old place where seniors gather for good food and companionship. Located at 832 N. Main St has some of the best biscuits and gravy in four counties. No matter what you order, order a half order because the portions are huge. There is a smoking section, one of the few left in Wyoming, but if you are a non-smoker, you can eat at the counter. This is a very laid back place where you can jaw with the locals and everyone is welcome.
Though it is a corporate restaurant,Perkins located at 1373 Coffeen, is a great place to eat and they have wonderful senior discounts. This is a awesome place to meet after church or if you are having a get together with your senior friends. The coffee is always hot and the meals, especially breakfast, are consistent with normal portions and prices.
Though there are not to many senior restaurants in Sheridan, these three will treat you right in the terms of value, service, and quality of food. If you are not from Sheridan, these are some pretty good places to meet locals and discuss the area attractions or the best hunting areas in the Big Horn Mountains. Give all three a try.
