In love with Thai food myself; I compiled a list of my five favorite Thai restaurants in Salt Lake City and the surrounding areas of Utah. If ever you happen to be visiting Salt Lake City, you will now know where to stop to find the best Thai food around.
Thai Siam Restaurant
1435 South State Street
Salt Lake City, Utah 84115
Thai Siam is located just off State Street at about 1400 South in Salt Lake City, Utah. Upon entering you find a quaint and cozy set-up. There is not much room in the restaurant and quite often enough you will find yourself waiting for a table because of it. Though it’s worth the wait. There is a reason this restaurant is “Award Winning” in the Salt Lake County area.
Their Pad Thai is one of the best I have ever tasted. The rice noodles have the perfect bite and the blend of spicy peanut sauce and tangy lime hit your mouth with an explosion of just great taste. Their Green Curry or “Gang Keow Wan” packs a punch and cooling effect with the sweet coconut milk and Thai spices.
Go check them out and eat some authentic Thai food today.

If you happen to be in the downtown area of Salt Lake City and you are having an incurable Thai craving, Thai Lotus is where to be. Though their prices are higher than majority of the Thai restaurants I frequent, its well worth each penny you pony up to the menu.
The décor takes you away to some small Thai bistro in the middle of Bangkok. The service staff is friendly and always willing to suggest items off the menu that you may have passed over. Want some quick take-out? This is the one to go to. The food is always fresh and hot and just like you were at the restaurant by the time you get it home.
A dish to remember at Thai Lotus for me was the Salmon with Panang Curry. The crunch of the batter-fried salmon mixed with the creamy spice of the curry was a pack of power in your mouth. I highly suggest you try this one. The salmon was clearly fresh and tasted like cucumbers; the meat was so succulent it literally melts in your mouth. I could not find one item I did not like about this dish. I’m sure you will have the same experience.
754 East South Temple Street
Salt Lake City, Utah 84102
One of my most favorite Thai restaurants in the area would have to be Sawadee. The atmosphere of the restaurant is so warm and inviting. The service staff is excellent and for a summer dinner, their outdoor seating is just perfect. You sit amongst fellow diners and watch cars drive by as you taste the flavors of Thailand. My favorite dish here is their pad Thai as well. The sweet and sultry peanut sauce they have tantalizes your taste buds. Their drunken stir-fry is delicious too. Simple, yet full of flavor!
There you have it. Three of my favorite Thai restaurants to visit here in Salt Lake, Utah. If you are visiting or actually live here, visit all three if you can. Choose your favorites. Comment on the article with other favorites you have in the area. Let’s share our Thai food together!
