While addressing the explosive conversation on ABC’s “The View”, Bill O’Reilly pointed to more facts and figures on the Mosque being built at Ground Zero on Fox News Networks “The O’Reilly Factor”. (Click to View) On Thursday Joy Behar and Whoopi Goldberg walked off the set after he made derogatory comments about Muslims. He mumbled an apology after Barbara Walters scolding, and the two co-hosts returned. (Click to View)
O’Reilly explained, “No one I know wants to insult Muslims, but many are tired of the political correctness surrounding the 9/11 attack. I am not in the business of sugarcoating harsh realities,” O’Reilly said. “I enjoy jousting with the ‘View’ ladies because, with the exception of Elisabeth Hasselbeck, they don’t see it my way and I want their audience to hear both sides.”
The question is, can you make a blank statement about the Muslim religion and it not be taken as derogatory? I have learned that in our recent past the Klu Klux Klan terrorized Black and Jewish Americans in the name of God. Slavery was committed in this country to African Americans and Native Americans in the name of God and Christianity. Should we lump all of the Christians together?
I do understand that putting a Mosque near Ground Zero may be uncomfortable to some. I also can see that it may also be unconfortable for the families of fallen soldiers to witness Christian picketers chanting outside the funeral. But in both cases, it is an American right.
