The RadioShack on Montague Street got a special delivery recently, according to the Brooklyn Daily Eagle.
Armed crooks reportedly garbed in UPS uniforms held up and robbed the electronics store at 110 Montague Street in Brooklyn Heights. Police confirmed that NYPD choppers buzzed the busy part of the borough looking for the bandits after receiving reports of the 8:30AM heist.
The sole RadioShack employee told police they were held at gunpoint while the felons emptied the cash register and rifled the store for a few iPods before making their getaway in one of UPS’s trademark brown delivery trucks.
A street cleaner reported seeing the UPS truck parked out front of the RadioShack, but thought nothing of the early arriving deliverers.
Deputy Inspector of the 84th precinct told the Brooklyn Daily Eagle there were “no injuries whatsoever.”
No word yet on how the criminals were able to fabricate both the counterfeit uniforms and the delivery truck or if the gear was stolen.
But one has to wonder, why criminals prodigious enough to generate ersatz uniforms and trucks couldn’t find anything more valuable in a RadioShack than a few iPods. What is this, 2005?
