The latest downloadable content for Borderlands, Claptrap’s New Robot Revolution, brings an expanded story and new enemies to the game. Borderlands has always been about getting new loot while enjoying a humorous game world. Claptrap’s New Robot Revolution takes the lovable robot Claptrap and makes him your enemy as he tries to take over the planet as a ninja assassin. Here are tips and hints for completing the Claptrap’s New Robot Revolution missions without frustration or repeated deaths.
Claptrap’s New Robot Revolution Tip – Fighting Claptrap
Because Claptrap’s New Robot Revolution introduces claptraps as your enemy for the first time you will need to use some new tactics to survive fighting them. The army of Claptrap clones are shorter than most other enemies on Pandora so you will need to start by aiming lower than you are used to for other enemies. Be sure to keep your distance from the Claptraps because many of the units use powerful melee attacks and others explode when killed. Either of these can take you out quickly so sit back a ways and pick of the waves of robots before they can get close to you.
Claptrap’s New Robot Revolution Tip – Exploration
Gearbox has constantly hidden the best loot in treasure chests throughout Borderlands and Claptrap’s New Robot Revolution continues this. The areas included with this new content have some of the hardest to reach chests, and even finding those takes considerable effort. Be sure to check both under and above the various areas as chest tend to be in tucked away corners that can only be seen from one side.
Claptrap’s New Robot Revolution Tip – Farming
Collection based missions are not new to Borderlands, but Claptrap’s New Robot Revolution has more of them than any of the previous content for the game. There are 4 missions that require you to collect parts from Claptraps that you have killed. Additionally, there are oil cans, bobbleheads, 3D glasses, panties, fish in a bag and pizzas to collect as well. These items drop infrequently and require consistent effort to collect. The easiest way to get all the ones you need for the missions and achievements is to farm a few areas of the new content. The junkyard is the quickest place to farm. The Claptraps spawn there ever little while so head in after each mission and clear all the enemies out to collect all their dropped loot. The other spot you can farm easily is the final boss. The last boss in the Claptrap’s New Robot Revolution missions will spawn a continually stream of Claptraps. Instead of killing the boss just stick to the edges of the area and take out the enemies he spawns. As long as the boss is still alive he will keep spawning enemies that you can kill and collect loot from. Once you have collected all the items you need then finish off the last boss.
