Vinegar Hill in Brooklyn is not known for much and, in fact, most people have only heard of the Vinegar Hill House restaurant that recently appeared on the Food Network. This five-or-so-block neighborhood in Brooklyn near the Brooklyn-Queens Expressway doesn’t offer much for residents. But if you’re lucky, you might see Ted Danson, Zach Galifianakis, or Jason Schwartzman filming their hit HBO series, “Bored to Death.”
“Bored to Death” is in its second season and has shed new light on areas of Brooklyn, such as Vinegar Hill. Even the creator, Jonathan Ames, has been quoted about how he likes to go on bike rides in and around the neighborhood.
The TV show has made Brooklyn cool again and not just in that hipster-tight-colored-jeans sort of way. With cameos such as Kevin Bacon and SNL’s own Kristen Wiig, it’s nice to see these A-list celebrities hanging out in the forgotten New York City neighborhoods.
On October 27, 2010 it was announced that “Bored to Death” will be back for a third season. We can expect more crazy storylines as well beautiful shots of how Brooklyn should be viewed.
