The famous Cape Cod Scallop Fest will be taking place again this year on the third weekend after Labor Day, September 24, 25 & 26. Get ready for a crowd, as this years festival will draw over 55,000 hungry folks looking to experience the popular festival that takes place along the beautiful Cape Cod Canal in Buzzards Bay.

This year will mark the 41st year that Bourne will host the tasty and engaging Scallop festival. The scallops themselves are the main act during the festival with over three tons that are deep fried and served up to hungry patrons. If scallops aren’t your cup of tea then go ahead and sample the herb roasted chicken. Both dishes are superb, served with the required fries, coleslaw, buttered roll, and a soda. If your belly is still not full from all those tasty scallops then rest assured that you can always take a stroll thorough the Food Court were you can fill up on Beer & Wine, Chowder, Lobster Rolls, Raw Bar, Hotdogs, Burgers, and desserts treats.
If you’re not interested in attending the Scallop Festival for the food, then by all means head on over for the entertainment. The festival has a variety of talent to make everyone’s toe start tapping, and you won’t be able to stop your feet from dancing with this years main event, the Maratha’s Vineyard based band ENTRAIN. The band is well known for its eclectic mix of musical styles that is anchored by their prolific use of drums and wold music rhythms. Your kids will get a big kick out of the Toe Jam Puppet Band for two shows on Saturday and won’t be able to stop watching the Tall Tex Greeters, characters up on stilts . Other entertainment over the weekend includes, Stage Door Canteen, Danny Banks and his All Star Band and the Dan Lawson Band. In addition to the great music and tasty food you can take in the arts and crafts show that will host over 120 venders and artisans selling unique and one of a kind items, or cruise the midway for games and rides that are provided by Rockwell Amusements. On Friday night Rockwell is offering a special wrist band night.
