Brad Pitt has enjoyed a long and successful movie career even if it was a struggle to land significant roles early on. He really started to break out into superstardom in the mid to late 1990s and since then has been a mainstay amongst the most popular actors in Hollywood. The interesting thing about Brad Pitt for me is that he doesn’t really do any blockbuster type roles, he just chooses to play interesting characters and if the movie is a success then that’s great. I’ve seen almost all of his movies so I wanted to create my own top ten list of Brad Pitt’s best movies. I think that it is pretty fair although I was questioning whether or not to put The Assassination of Jesse James on the list I ultimately decided there were better films. So enjoy reading my list of the greatest movies starring Brad Pitt. You may also enjoy: Leonardo DiCaprio Best Movies
Interview with the Vampire– Brad plays the role of a vampire named Louis telling his life story to a reporter played by Christian Slater. This is probably one of his most interesting movies even if it isn’t the best of the top ten.
Se7en– A serial killer is on the loose and uses the seven deadly sins as his motivation for committing the crimes. Brad and Morgan Freeman team up as the young and old detectives trying to stop the killer. Se7en may be Brad Pitt’s greatest movie and if not definitely in the top 3.
Twelve Monkeys– Science fiction movie featuring time travel and an absolutely crazy storyline and it is of course fitting to have Brad play Jeffrey Goines who is completely out of his mind. This is a very underrated film and one of the best sci-fi movies of the 1990s.
Fight Club– This is probably Brad’s most famous role not only because of how much of a cult following the movie has attained or his character of Tyler Durden but also because of his physique in the film. Fight Club is rather philosophical under the backdrop of bloody punching. It’s not just a bunch of guys’ fighting one another.
Snatch– Pitt is absolutely hilarious in Snatch portraying the Pikey boxing champion Mickey O’Neil. The fact that you can barely understand anything he is saying is part of the brilliance of this role because he nails the character so well. The movie itself is also a funny and highly entertaining heist story that will make you glad you watched it.
Ocean’s Eleven– Rusty is a smooth talking thief with a compulsive eating habit and Danny Ocean’s main partner in this crime caper. While the sequels to this movie were pretty hit or miss this one is great throughout even if it gets shown on TV every other day it seems.
Troy– Okay so not everyone liked this movie but I still think it was pretty damn entertaining. Brad Pitt plays Achilles and while it isn’t his best role ever he is believable as the warrior.
Babel– The story isn’t always told in chronological order but it is a pretty entertaining movie with Brad playing the role of Richard Jones, an American vacationing in Morocco.
The Curious Case of Benjamin Button– Reverse aging had to be a difficult thing for the filmmakers to pull off but they did quite well in this 2008 movie. It is perhaps a bit too long and lags in certain parts but overall it is still a very good movie and deserves a spot amongst Brad Pitt’s best.
Inglorious Basterds– Lt. Also Raine played by Pitt leads an army unit with the specific goal of killing Nazi’s. Pitt is quite funny in his portrayal featuring a heavy Appalachian accent which leads to great scenes like his attempt to pass as an Italian in order to infiltrate a Nazi film premiere.
