The Brandy Dancing With the Stars elimination shocked everyone last night. Of course, the actual Brandy Dancing With the Stars elimination wasn’t the big story of the evening. Everyone wanted to talk about Bristol Palin, and spout their latest conspiracy theories and outrage. Next week, Jennifer Grey and Kyle Massey could be the final victims, and if they are, it will dwarf the fury of the last several weeks combined. But for now, having Brandy off Dancing With the Stars is the most shocking moment of Season 11.
If someone other than Palin was to be eliminated, it was expected to be Kyle Massey. After all, Massey wasn’t a consistent favorite all season, like Jennifer Grey and Brandy were. However, one of those favorites was taken out anyway – and it wasn’t the one who got two perfect scores on Monday.
The Brandy Dancing With the Stars tenure was supposed to end at the finals, after a showdown with Grey. She was the only other contestant to get the highest scores in a week, and stepped in as a favorite while Grey slumped in mid-season.
As recently as a few weeks ago, a Grey-Brandy finale was considered a foregone conclusion. Even when Palin defied all expectations, few thought she would take Brandy down with her. Yet since she did just that last night, it sparked the biggest outcry yet in Season 11.
While everyone ranted and raved about Palin, the last Brandy Dancing With the Stars duty took place on Jimmy Kimmel Live. As the latest eliminated contestant, she had to share her feelings with Jimmy Kimmel, who asked if the results were “an outrage” Although she didn’t actually say anything, she and dance partner Maksim Chmerkovskiy did nod and smile at the question.
“Maks” said more on the subject, as he stated that there was “huge support” for Palin when Kimmel asked about a “Tea Party voting bloc. But Brandy stayed relatively quiet on it – although a headline on the New York Daily News claimed that she was the one who called it an outrage.
Even if she didn’t say it out loud, many fans voiced that sentiment last night for her. When Patridge and Fox were eliminated before Palin, it was a case of sleepers being knocked out. Yet theBrandy Dancing With the Stars elimination was a case of a real contender getting thrown under the Palin bus.
Normally, this would mean that Grey will have an easier time winning, with just Palin and Massey to worry about. But now, fans aren’t so sure, as the chance of Palin winning the mirror ball becomes less remote. Even if Grey finally wins, viewers will wonder how much harder it would have been against Brandy, or the other eliminated contestants.
