Two years ago my husband and I wanted to add some color to our living room, so we purchased a pistachio colored leather couch made by Natuzzi. Our then newly remodeled kitchen had one wall that was sage green, and from our more open floor plan we can easily see both our dining room and our living room.
The accent pillows on this couch were the same pillows we used on our former couch, and I wanted a new look. While I was shopping at my local Kohl’s store, I was pleased to see they had their accent pillows on sale for fifty percent off! To top it off I had a $25 Kohl’s gift card, so I could buy two pillows at no cost to me.
Kohl’s had a large selection of accent pillows, in different sizes, colors and textures. Every time I found one I liked, I couldn’t find another to match, and I needed a set of two pillows. After searching through all of the pillows, I finally found one that matched, hidden behind other pillows, viola!
I purchased two Brentwood Heritage Striped Pillows, which retailed for $24.99, but with the sale I was able to buy both for the price of one. These pillows were the perfect colors for my living room! Luckily I had a small patch of leather with me, in the Natuzzi pistachio color (I have a friend who sells Natuzzi), and I knew while I was in the store that these pillows were going to match nicely.
The Brentwood Heritage Striped Pillows measure 20 inches in length and are 14 inches wide. The pillow I chose is the “Loden Green” color, which is a striped pattern using the colors cream, dark brown, and three different shades of green. There is a beautiful piping around the edges of the pillow, which gives it a nice finished and elegant look. The pillows are made by Brentwood Originals in Carson, CA.
These pillows are very plush, yet don’t take up a ton of space on my couch. They are made of a soft polyester, but have a faux suede feel to them, and the only negative is that the covers cannot be removed and washed, these have to be spot cleaned. The filling in these pillows is also 100% polyester, and while they are made in China, they are filled and finished in the USA.
The smaller size of the Brentwood Heritage Striped Pillows makes these a nice option for placing behind the back, for lumbar support. They also fit perfectly across the width of our couch and are very comfortable to lay the head on when watching television.
At the register these rang up for $29.99, but the price on the tag reads $24.99. I visited the Kohl’s website, and they also list the price as $29.99. Since they were marked the lower price, and since I caught this at the check out, Kohl’s was great about charging me the lesser price.
I love the variety of striped colors in these pillows! They really add some pop to my living room, they dress up my couch, and they don’t get in the way like some over sized throw pillows do. I love them!
