While Brett Favre is in a massive scandal, many wonder how his wife is coping with the “sexting” investigation. Brett Favre is being investigated by the NFL for “sexts” he allegedly sent to a former sideline reporter for the New York Jets in 2008, Jenn Sterger. Deanna Favre joined Pastor Shane Stanford today on “Good Morning America” and FOX News “FOX and Friends” Thursday about their book titled, “The Cure for the Chronic Life.”
Brett Favre’s Wife Promotes New Book as Scandal Continues
The book is about turning attention from yourself, outward, Deanna Favre reveals. She and Pastor Stanford worked together on the book and they were promoting the new project on both morning news programs.
“The most difficult struggle I’ve gone through is losing my brother,” Deanna Favre on GMA. “He was 24-years-old and in an ATV accident. Four days after his funeral I was diagnosed with breast cancer. It was tough time for me.”
Mrs. Favre added that she wasn’t coping in a way that was healthy when her diagnosis was made. She saw what others had to contend with in hearing the same cancer diagnosis. What they had to cope with, opened her eyes.
“My immediate response was to turn inward and think about myself,” she continued. “I was in self pity, I was angry, I was – you know – living in fear with the cancer diagnosis. And um…until I actually got out into the waiting room having chemo, seeing these women who were in there dealing with financial burdens on top of the chemo. On top of the cancer, no insurance, it really made me look at…it really made me put myself in their shoes. It made me look at life differently. I’m blessed.”
As Brett Favre’s Investigation is Ongoing, His Wife Turns Outward During the Scandal
“I have so much to be thankful for,” Deanna said. “Going through cancer is tough enough without having those financial burdens. So, now I have the fire for Hope foundation to help women who are uninsured, or under-insured.”
Deanna Favre finds comfort in helping those who have much less than she does. Many would look at this woman and say, she must be a real mess with her husband being accused of flirting with other women. Brett Favre’s wife has a inner strength that has been tested many times. She may have a different emotion that is seen only behind closed doors, but she’s coping bravely on the outside. Brett Favre’s wife is definitely taking her own advice.
“Don’t let the struggle define you,” Deanna wisely said on GMA. “You have to define your struggle. In a good way. You can turn this into a success in some shape or form.”
