Moscow is intended to be the third city you encounter while playing the Facebook game Mafia Wars. Similar to Cuba, many of the features in Moscow are different than in the starting city New York. Also, similar to Cuba, Moscow adds additional complications to the basic structure of the game. The following guide will help you navigate through Moscow and successfully enjoy the new and more complicated features of the city.
Money – The money used in Moscow is rubles. When you first arrive in Moscow you don’t have any rubles, but you can perform either the Smuggle Consumer Electronics for the Vory job or the Arrange a Drug Shipment for the Mafiya job to earn some starting rubles.
Jobs – Like every other city in the game, most jobs in Moscow require you to possess specific pieces of equipment that are only obtainable in Moscow to perform the job. Unlike the previous cities you have encountered, you do not unlock later job tiers by gaining levels. Instead, each tier is broken up into multiple chapters and you unlock additional chapters in your tier by completing all of the jobs currently available in the current chapter. Once you have completed every chapter in a tier, you unlock the next tier. In addition, after completing the second chapter of every tier, you must choose whether to side with the Mafiya or the Vories. This decision determines which jobs are available in the next chapter and which loot you can potentially earn. Finally, Moscow jobs have two new unique features. First, some jobs allow you to ask allies for help. If an ally helps you, you gain a large bonus to your completion percentage of the job. Second, as you master tiers in Moscow you need to purchase more equipment to complete the jobs at higher mastery levels.
Collections – Each tier has a collection associated with it. Loot items for that collection can only be found by completing jobs from that tier. Once all seven loot items for the collection are found you can vault the collection to receive a one time bonus to a specific attribute.
Properties – Properties in Moscow work almost exactly like properties in Cuba. Each property provides money at regular intervals and the first property can never be upgraded. Every other property can be upgraded to level 30 at maximum.
Boss Fights – Like New York, there are boss fights in Moscow. Unlike New York, you can request assistance from your friends to complete boss fights. Up to 10 friends can assist you in boss fights after you request aid. Since you can wait for assistance, boss fights do not need to be completed immediately upon starting them.
Achievements – Moscow only has three city specific achievements. You can receive these achievements by traveling to Moscow, defeating the first boss, and vaulting a collection. It is relatively easy to get all of the Moscow achievements with only a little bit of effort.
