After seeing numerous television commercials for them, I decided to try an order of Burger King’s Mini Blueberry Biscuits today. I must say, I’m very glad that I decided to try these blueberry treats. These biscuits are very similar to homemade biscuits in appearance, flavor and texture and are very reasonably – priced. I am so impressed with these biscuits, that I have decided to review them.
Presented here, as a service to the consumer at large, is one food writer’s product review of one of Burger King’s new breakfast items, their Mini Blueberry Biscuits.
As their name suggests, Burger King’s Mini Blueberry Biscuits are rather miniature in size. Their size sort of reminds me of chicken nuggets. The standard – sized order of these mini treats contains four biscuits, which is just the right size to complement a cup of coffee. Essentially finger food, these mini biscuits are also just the right size to pop in your mouth while driving or doing almost any type of activity.
The regular price charged for one standard – sized order of Mini Blueberry Biscuits at Hartford, Connecticut area Burger King restaurants is $1. Without a doubt, I think that the price of this item is very reasonable.
The texture of Burger King’s Mini Blueberry Biscuits is very similar to that of homemade biscuits. The biscuits are soft on the inside, with firmer exteriors and are studded throughout with real blueberries. Whereas some biscuits are extremely dry and crumbly, these specimens are moister than many biscuits, perhaps due to the presence of the blueberries in the batter.
The blueberries themselves are indeed fairly juicy and they provide a great sense of contrast to the biscuit dough. Also, the texture of these mini biscuits really shined when they were paired with a hot cup of coffee.
Burger King’s Mini Blueberry Biscuits contain 390 calories, per one order (four biscuits) serving. These delicious biscuits also contain 15 grams of saturated fat, 0 grams trans fat, 15 grams total fat, 0 mg of cholesterol, 830 mg of sodium, 57 grams total carbohydrates, 30 grams of sugar and 5 grams of protein, per one four – biscuit serving.
Taste / Flavor
These little biscuits are very tasty. I think that they are a great alternative to egg – based breakfast sandwiches and overly – sweet muffins, pastries and other treats. The basic biscuits taste like homemade biscuits and the blueberries that populate them taste real and add an appealing amount of sweetness to the item. While Burger King’s Mini Blueberry Biscuits are somewhat similar to blueberry muffins, their flavor is also different.
A delightful vanilla – tasting icing / sauce for dipping is served with these mini biscuits and when it is applied to the items, a whole new, sweeter taste sensation occurs. Two words that I could use to describe the flavor of these biscuits are pleasant and mellow.
The Mini Blueberry Biscuits that are available during breakfast hours at Burger King restaurants are packaged in a cardboard box that reminds me of a chicken nugget or tender box. The box is easy to open and it also re – closes effectively. The delicious icing / sauce that comes with these biscuits is packaged separately, in a small plastic container, which allows the consumer to use as much or as little of the icing as they desire.
Honestly, I have nothing but good things to say about Burger King’s Mini Blueberry Biscuits. They are, as their name implies, miniature in size, but one order of them was just the right size to ideally complement a hot cup of coffee.
These biscuits are not too sweet on their own, but if you desire something sweeter, the icing / sauce that comes with them can change their flavor to your liking. These inexpensively – priced biscuits are available at Burger King restaurants across America and are highly recommended by this food writer.
